Isn’t your success based on following up and following through?

Character is what it takes to do what you said you would do long after you’ve forgotten the feeling that motivated you to make that commitment in the first place.

I thought about this today as I realized that this is my 400^th consecutive weekly message. You have received a message every week for nearly 8 years no matter where I was; how I was feeling; what was going on; or what I was doing. Christmas morning. New Year’s Day. On vacation. Speaking around the world.

Getting you this message has been a priority me because I made a commitment that I wouldn’t break. When I started, I was excited for the new technology and to make a difference through social media for my audience.

I had a lot to say. But, as you can imagine, a few hundred scripts in, this had become both harder and easier to do. Harder because I keep thinking I’ll run out of things to say and easier because I’ve learned a formula for how to say them.

And isn’t your business the same? Isn’t your success based on your ability to make a commitment and stick to it long after the initial excitement of starting out on it has left you?

So, what must you do every week to be a success in your business even though you may not feel like it anymore? Is it contacting people to convert them from leads into meetings? Is it setting up say at least 9 meetings a week? Is it asking for introductions? Is it seeing the people? Maybe it’s contacting your clients and doing annual reviews?

Following up and following through on your commitments - even when you don’t feel like it, is what it takes to be world class – and I know you can do it.
