3 Ways to make your world a better place?

How can you BE better and DO better? Simple. Start by lifting up the people around you - and the people around you will lift you up too. 

Think about that. Don’t we always wonder well how we are doing? And when we are told we are doing well; don’t we feel great? Don’t we naturally want to reciprocate that feeling too? 

Here are 3 ways to lift people up and get a lift in the process. 

1. Take every opportunity to make the people around you look good. This especially applies to your family, friends, and co-workers. Publicly highlight what they do right. Right when they are doing it. Praise them every chance they give you. Go out of your way to say something good about them. Make them look good and feel better. Make it your thing. They will be inclined to do the same for you and you’ll both be better. 
2. Catch people doing things right. When you are speaking with someone and they say something smart, tell them so. Say, “Hey, I like what you said there – very smart!” And if they do something impressive, tell them so too. “That was a great thing you did, good for you.” 
3. Congratulate them on their achievements, even the little ones. Everyone thinks they have just done something worthy of praise, so congratulate them any time you see an opening. They will look for your wins too.

You can be that person that makes everyone feel better either by saying something or, even better, putting it in a note to them. And while that action alone is its own reward and will make you feel better; just watch how it comes back to you. You will be better and do better too.
